FEBRUARY
FEBRUARY UPDATE: Greetings, Kinkatopia!
Thank you for your patience and sorry for the delay. As mentioned in an informal update, I had some health-related happenings this past month. I am happy to say I am back to 100%! Now if only we could add a couple more hours to a day…
FEBRUARY
It’s been one heck of a month for Chloe, but I feel we are on the upside of her recovery. The most recent update is that Chloe is taking a daily anti-inflammatory to help with her cystitis diagnosis. I am also experimenting with using CBD to help not only her stress-level, but also her physical symptoms. More to come on that as we progress forward.
I am dosing Arkham with CBD as well to see if it helps to balance his hormones and energy level. He was neutered in November 2018 and I have seen small changes in his behavior. Looking forward to promoting more information about kinkajous and CBD!
Kinky had a “meet and greet” at Kinkatopia. He will be joining us permanently in the next couple of weeks. We are so excited to add our 7 th resident to the family! Oliver will have a neighbor! Kinky’s cage has been established and is being prepared. He will most likely transition inside before moving into this outdoor palace.
We helped to place 1 kinkajou this month – totaling 4 for 2019.
Michelle of Essential Animal Training has been visiting weekly to work with the kinkajous and help us with our enrichment program. We are sharing ideas with the community to promote the use of enrichment to keep brains busy and spirits happy. I absolutely adore all the questions and happy to see so many owners investing in enrichment activities for their kinkajous.
Enclosures were revamped and the main room was partially restored.
I’ve been on call 24/7 to those of you who have questions and/or concerns about your kinkajous. You are all welcome to continue to reach out — I am happy to help.
UPCOMING
Binx will be doing our next round of artwork. Thank-yous for current donors will be mailed out ASAP.
More fundraisers to come! Look for T-Shirts, sponsorship, jewelry, and more! March is our anniversary month! Kinkatopia will be promoting our kinkajou-sponsorship campaign!
Planning stages for website development has begun.
I am still working on the veterinary and state-by-state kinkajou legality lists. I have many holes in my data so please continue to update me on this information!
I will resume videos as soon as possible. I do go live on Facebook occasionally and could integrate that platform more. I appreciate the interaction I get when I do so.
Remember that we board kinkajous! Summer is approaching … when you schedule your vacations, make sure to schedule your kinkajou’s stay with Kinkatopia. It’s a great peace of mind for you and we love doing it!
WAYS TO SUPPORT
Kinkatopia has may ways to support our cause — not just directly, but indirectly as well.
1) We accept monetary donations in many ways: PayPal, GoFundMe, Venmo, CashApp, Facebook, ApplyPay, check, and other basic forms of money exchange. Also, most of the above companies recognize Kinkatopia as a charity (if they provide that feature) and you can donate that way as well.
2) The Kinkatopia Amazon Supply List can be accessed at: Amazon Supply List. This is a new way to support Kinkatopia! You can do this on Amazon or for a double win, on AmazonSmile. Donations will be mailed directly to Kinkatopia and Amazon provides you with a receipt for tax time. If you don’t feel comfortable donating funds, this is a great way to help us get supplies.
3) We are on AmazonSmile! Go to amazonsmile.com to make your Amazon purchases and they will donate a percentage to Kinkatopia! We should be receiving our first quarterly payout in February.
4) As mentioned earlier, Arm the Animals will donate to us! Purchasing from armtheanimals.com and using the code “Kinkatopia” will donate 20% of your order to the kinkajous!
5) LOCAL SUPPLY DONATIONS — We are always in need of particular items: newspaper, used furniture, cat trees, cut tree branches, etc.
6) “Like” and share on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
7) Check out my articles on Reach Out Recovery! Please follow, like, and share. This platform can help us raise more awareness for Kinkatopia! There are nuggets in these posts that everyone can enjoy.
All donations are tax deductible and receive a thank-you painting by a Kinkatopia kinkajou.
We are so excited to celebrate 1 year in March! Thank you to everyone for your continued involvement and support. Take care!!
Peace, love, and kinkajous.
